As nerdy as wizards are made up to be in #dnd and similar games - they never do their own studies, they just copy the notes from better classmates.
@MeimuHakurei Nah, they're just doing peer review. "This paper says you can get a TPK by dumping a high level fireball on the party. Better see if we can replicate their results."
@MeimuHakurei Adventuring wizards in #dnd aren't scientists. Some of their NPC counterparts are, but they're not. They're more like military engineers, putting the work of those scientists into practice to build and/or blow stuff up in a (hopefully) controlled way.
