"We're sorry to alarm you," they broadcast. "We were led to believe your planet would be in nuclear winter now, with all sentients extinct."
There was a pause.
"Well done, avoiding that."
Another pause.
"We'll check back in fifty years."

Thank you for writing these things. Even when I'm tired and don't feel like checking my home timeline, I at least log in just to see if you've posted something. I'm not sure how you can think of good ideas so fast, but please keep it up. You've got a lot of happy readers.

@zarpaulus Not consciously. I was thinking about how we avoided nuclear winter only to head for runaway hothouse effect.
