Hello there! I'm just bivouac'ing here as a refugee from twitter (same username) until I figure out which way the wind is blowing. I'd prefer to be away from the big corporate social media anyway, and will probably not stay on this server permanently, as I'm mildly allergic to centralization in general, so, as even just the biggest Mastodon server, this one slightly irritates the sensitive tissues of my nose and throat. I'm here now, though... so... party on, Wayne.
I suppose I should give some background. I run a home security systemwith 5 misc devices pressed into service as IP cams documenting the constant noise from my neighbors that I'm going to use to get the city to force my landlord to give me a rent refund. I also run a server hosting a homegrown app that keeps tabs on financial markets and helps me track investments.
I go to bed every night with these things all working fine.
I wake up every morning and they're completely broken. Every day.
<vent> I am supremely tired of spending 75% of my time troubleshooting things that worked fine yesterday. </vent>
