Mona app

Available now in Mona Beta:
1. Send your post with a content warning ⚠️
2. View threaded posts on your timelines 💬
3. Send and view “Quote Posts” 😎

@MonaApp I hope you could also support disabling CWs on timeline so that all posts are shown by default in full, like Mastodon web has (images too if not already).

Also currently it seems that you can’t click a CW to expand it in place but it takes you to post details view; I think clicking CW should just expand the post without having to enter a separate view. But good job so far with Mona, the Mac client is already a huge W compared to others I’ve tested.

@MonaApp Wait... Quote Toots? Huh? Looking forward to this one!

@MonaApp do you have a timeline for allowing non-Spring users in, or will that be whenever it launches?

@MonaApp will be interesting to see how Quote Tweet works with various instances

@filmfreak75 @MonaApp It's just a link to a toot. It's fully supported. The official web client just refuses to show it as an inline toot.

That's the only way to implement it with Mastodon, some forks do it some other way.

Ideally, it should be prefixed like this:

QT example.com
or
RT example.com

So that client knows the link in question is for toot and does not try to fetch details of regular-old links.

example.comExample Domain

@Ciantic @MonaApp anything that makes a UI easier all the better — the official app makes the mess that is Twitter’s look polished

@MonaApp Spring was my twitter client of choice until I left and I’ve been absolutely loving mona so far!

@MonaApp wrt qt, do you plan to implement your own strategy initially, and then adjust when/if the official spec adds support?

@MonaApp plz support local timeline and animated emoji

@MonaApp I assume push notifications are in the works? Love the app so far!

@MonaApp My Notifications and Mentions give an error.

@Ronnie Thanks for the report. I’ll look into it.

@MonaApp Weirdly it happens on my appdot.net instance and not on others. I have seven different Fediverse apps downloaded and none of them have issues.

@MonaApp Not sure if I’am missing something here, so apologies in advance. I notice that I can view both my home and federated timelines, but am unable to find my local timeline. Am i confusing something?

@mkdjy12 Please look for the “Community” tab.

@MonaApp Many thanks for clarifying. This works.

@MonaApp Will you have anymore beta openings soon?

@MonaApp Links to Toots show up as “tweet”!

@MonaApp Thanks for the rapid updates, the app is looking great so far!

@MonaApp Nicely done! I really love this new reading threads that you included. Unique and making Mona the best of the best to have. Keep up the great work and it’s been fun to watch Mona as its being updated in the beta process. I know that you have a boat load of things to work on but if you don’t mind me. I like to request some features, if possible, to have in the future. Firstly, when you start working on the notification segment. If you would give us the ability to notified when a user post. I think that would be something many people would like. Secondly, being able to have the ability to add a server of another instance. But, with a twist that we can load that instance to see their Local and Federated timeline with without having an account on that instance. I hope that makes sense. Keep up the great work and I really love the things you are doing for Mona!

@Thomas_domville @MonaApp I just hope Mona adopts the word "post" instead of "toot". :)

@alexhall @MonaApp Now that would make for a great suggestion. May I suggest a compromise that we have a option with in the Settings if we want to use the button to a Post or a Toot. MetaText had this option and would be fantastic to have on Mona. RIP MetaText.
