#Amtrak CEO steps down as #Musk #DOGE insists ‘sad’ rail service needs to be privatized
The rail service operates in 46 states, two Canadian provinces - including #Montreal #Quebec - and Washington D.C.
Amtrak set an all-time ridership record last year, of more than 32 million customers.
US Rail has frequently been targeted by Musk in the past who sees it as a direct competitor to his business interests including #Tesla.

SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT:
A man who owes much of his vast fortune to government contracts paying his private companies (#SpaceX, #Tesla, #Starlink, #Neurolink, even X now) thinks the PRIVATE company known as #Amtrak needs to be "privatized" so that it is forced to compete for its gov't contracts?
Do I have that right?
