Someone had the bright idea of making a "Windows Only" category on Steam and putting all non-Linux games in there, so I tried it out. Great concept, if one of those games gets a port unexpectedly, I'll be able to tell really easily.
Oddly, there are only a few that I'd really want. Skyrim and Oblivion of course. The Avernum games. The early Assassin's Creeds and the original Divinity games. But the rest? They'd be nice, but I'll be okay if they're never ported.
@faris The first AC might work. Maybe.
My computer is pretty old now, so I'd really need to upgrade (which right now I can ill afford) before I even think about stuff like that or Skyrim. Indeed, I just tried to run that with Wine and it *almost* works, just slightly too sluggish to be enjoyable though.
@Nezchan I'm still hoping that OpenMW eventually becomes able to run Oblivion.
I'd play OpenMW, but honestly...I'm not really that hot on the graphics or combat/magic system in the original game. Oblivion is about as far back as I'm willing to go. Maybe I'm shallow, but I guess I have to accept that.
@Nezchan That's totally fair. I didn't manage to play more than a couple hours. Though I did read an amusing walkthrough: http://it-he.org/eldersc.php
