@Ashoka @GinnyMcQueen Not harmless in the least. But you're not going to get far in unlearning terrible things unless you recognize they're there in the first place. Bigotry is very easy to fall into, and everyone in the structurally dominant group benefits.

So on the axis of race, I'm part of that institution keeping others down. I have to recognize and admit that.

especially the" everybody is a bit racist" argument, which is technically correct but has been used as a deflection so many times I cannot stand to hear it anymore.
