I'm not usually hostile to Google, but all this useless mandatory crap they insist on stuffing into phones really bugs me.
@capn_pancakes Oh yeah, but at least the Samsung stuff I've got is pretty much inert most of the time.
@Nezchan I somehow forgot to pay attention to how many on-board Gigs of memory my phone model had, and underestimated how MUCH on-board most apps require to function........

I'm so tempted to uninstall everything.
@Nezchan in the case of the newsstand app, you should be able to disable it forever: go to settings, apps, and find it in the list. First, uninstall updates; second, decativate app. If there's an "unstall" option instead, just use that. but yeah you're not wrong. (but it's not just google that does it; amazon has started sending advertising in notifications from kindle app too, ugh)
@Nezchan ikr? I don't want push notifications and no, they aren't helpful. At all.
