If you liked the old Livejournal concept, but hate what the Russian owners have done with the place, I recommend trying out Dreamwidth.
It's based on a fork of the original LJ code, but continually developed since then for a much better experience. The people who run the place care about community and they're definitely LGBT+ friendly.
@burendasan I really need to do something with my Dreamwidth account, but I'm not really sure what. I've got all sorts of blogging avenues open to me now if I want them, so I'm at a loss what would fit in that particular space.
@Nezchan YES! I love Dreamwidth.
@fidgety I used to be in a yaoi fan group with Denise way back, and I know she's good people. Her attachment to the project is a pretty big positive for me.
@Nezchan I'm https://woozle.dreamwidth.org/ -- haven't used it much recently but if I found a cluster of Mastodonians, there, that could easily change. ^.^
@Nezchan This is like 100% totally me but somehow I switched out of doing long form blog posts when lots of people switched over to micro blogging. I keep meaning to get into it again, thanks for the heads-up and reminder!
Well, the code is open source so it's not like you can't fork it and figure something out.
@Nezchan Heck yes! I recently ported my LJ over to Dreamwidth and will be maintaining my journal there from now on. Really liking it so far.
