You can also use OMEMO with XMPP that has forward secrecy and — of course — your keys are stored on the device and nowhere else. OMEMO is widely implemented in all maintained XMPP clients now (see https://omemo.top/).
In theory it’s possible to achieve forward secrecy with “PGP” too: https://sequoia-pgp.gitlab.io/openpgp-dr/openpgp_dr/index.html
