10 lesser-known facts about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru:
🔸 Before immersing himself into India's freedom struggle, Nehru was training to be an advocate like his father, Motilal Nehru, and had even enrolled at the Allahabad High Court after graduating from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1910.

Hey #India friends, how many ppl are aware of #sanghi influence in #Canada? Seems to be a lot of hostility particularly towards Jagmeet Singh, leader of our social democratic party (NDP). I've read ppl in Modi govt are not happy with #Sikh representation in Canada, especially as more bodies recognize 1984 as a state-sponsored #genocide
Hey @Ruminess. This quietness here also gives us the space to think. To reflect. To sit back and spend time interacting. On Twitter that hardly happened. So let's not mistake the quietness.
I like to clarify why we don’t have a verification system like the #birdsite with the blue thingy next to your name.
On the #fediverse or at least #Mastodon we all are equal. No person is ‘higher in ranks’ or better than everyone else, our point is exactly the opposite. We want equality right?
We have plenty of methods to prove who you are on other platforms, we don’t need a badge for that 😉 Ofcourse you can use it however you like but this would be the reason, I’ll hope you’ll understand
Mastodon looking for moderators speaking Tamil, Bengali: Founder explains future plans in a Skype interview
#SanjivBhatt appeared in court today and his bail plea was adjourned again. Sudha baradwaj, gautam navlakha etc are languishing in jail. A police state would look liberal in comparison. Something's gotta give...
This whole boycotting twitter, looking for an alternative, trying it out, convincing other people to come and network here.
This is what Ravish Kumar meant when he said, “It is possible that they may lose the battle. But sometimes resistance is not a matter of choice. Not all battles are fought for victory. Some are fought simply to tell the world that someone was there on the battlefield.”
One more institutional murder at IIT Madras. Fathima Lathif, an undergraduate student in humanities and social science department committed suicide facing religious and caste discrimination from IIT faculty Sudarshan Padmanabhan, as per her suicide note. IIT Madras is a Brahminical Agrahara which makes the lives of students from minority community perishable in all ways. It is sixth suicide on the campus within two years.
The thing about open-source/free software is that nobody is accountable. And if nobody can be held accountable, the quality goes down. Similarly on #fediverse, unless the creators and administrators are getting compensated for their time and effort, you can't really ask too much of them. You certainly are in no position to make any demands. All you can do is place a request and hope that it gets implemented. This is one of the reasons why I think decentralised social networking won't take off.
🤦♀️🤦♀️ Boomers got no chill..😅
"There is something paradoxical to stand suddenly alien to the world and to totally invest yourself in the language of a country that rejects you, to the point of claiming that language for yourself alone."

@Memeghnad If you're not anti-establishment when you're young, there's little hope for you when you are old!! Rebellion is well cooked during our adolescence years.
Some of us though never got out of it, no matter how grey our hair!! 😁😁
