vice.com/en/article/wx5aym/sol : " It means that there's the of , the decentralization of power " , what is the cause and what is the consequence ? It's not obvious to me... References welcome

Hello all, GoBlog is my new (dynamic) blogging software. It supports replies via ActivityPub from the fediverse. It converts the replies to Webmentions which are then displayed along other Webmentions and comments.

@rzr
Hi! Cactus Comments dev here.
Yeah - all persistence is done in Matrix!

..or, nearly all, at least. The browser does store an access token in localstorage - so you don't have to log in again when reloading the page.

It's "stateless" in the sense that Matrix is our only persistence.

@django @en @rzr @trackerninja Looks like git.jlel.se/jlelse/hugo-activi… is only the static hosting part of the story. This satisfies on-demand fetching, but for follow support you'd need a service.

I'm guessing that "my custom ActivityPub middleware (post about that is coming soon…)" is about git.jlel.se/jlelse/GoBlog ; The source tree does mention ActivityPub, so it probably provides the ActivityPub service. There's a docs/install.md.

cactus.chat/blog/# Comments is powered by the open standard for decentralized real-time communication. This is great ! Where is persistancy done , in a matrix database ?
@freaktechnik @lanodan @trackerninja @humanetech

@humanetech @rzr @trackerninja ActivityPub nah not really, client-side is almost non-existent and it would rely on a lot of implementation-behavior to display things like replies.
Other than maybe just using a frame or dynamic includes to fetch a simple page (honk would be pretty neat for this I guess).

I would recommend just putting a link to an announcement at the bottom of the articles, it's what I tend to do.
But for the ones which loves JavaScript:
