Mastodon makes me feel worse about myself pretty much every time I come online, about things of which I have no control. Being depressed is bad enough. Anxiety doesn't help.
Having a decidedly nonwhite name has made every part of the rest of my life difficult enough, but now I get shit online because I don't use an anime for a face.
@Mainebot I'm not sure if that's really Mastodons fault as much as it is the user-base or the general state of online society. I've been seeing this kind of shit beyond Mastodon and in places that shouldn't be.
