Welp, my most promising settlement yet has been largely undone by the Lion Knight and a Bone Witch. If I really wanted to win, I'd probably leave out the LK (added Nemeses tend to increase difficulty). I am a glutton for punishment, I suppose! Or at least for tall dudes with cat heads. #KingdomDeath
Feeling a bit better today, but still uncertain for the future. It'd help if our roommate, who's been here since last August, would get a job--any job--and contribute...

Prev boost: anarchic organization at its best! I am intrigued to see how well self-selecting anti-harassment instances work out, particularly with those like toot.cafe who maintain bad actor lists of instances not worth federating with.

Deeply depressed and anxious about money right now. If I'm happy/having a good time, it means I've managed to temporarily forget finances.
Here's a thing that makes Mastodon instances work less well than they could...
when you visit an instance, all the front pages look the same.
"About this instance" is a TINY little link under the sign-up form. This is crazy.
Instances should LEAD with a community description, not bury it.
That's like a newsgroup leading with the OS it used to run the newsgroup rather than saying: "This is a Kenny G community"
Mastdodon's been sold as "like Twitter but with less harassment/Nazis" but now I'm seeing people who want it to be "like Twitter but with less suppression of harassment/Nazis"? This is why we can't have nice things.
