I'm going to be very earnest because that's how I am anyway. I grew up in rural upstate NY & after years of traveling, school, & 7 years living in VT, I'm back in that area. I got married last year--Spouse is transmasculine & non-binary & Jamaican by way of Brooklyn. I just had a full hysterectomy. Life is never boring. I'm a pretty good irl auntie & available to be online auntie when needed.

The privilege my parents afforded me as a heterosexual white couple with access to some intergenerational wealth (on my mom's side) allowed me to travel a bunch when I was younger. To Belgium as a Rotary exchange student and to Thailand & Northern India as a college student (where my dad worked as staff) and to the Pacific Northwest & New Zealand on my own.

I took classes at the college where my dad worked for a couple years, then dropped out. I used the small college fund my parents had (2.5k) to fund a road trip to the west coast in 2001 where I took classes & worked/bartered to learn cob and straw bale construction techniques. This led eventually to jobs in more conventional construction sites. I also worked in childcare, retail, customer service, and more.

I was living in Vermont & working as a front desk receptionist when I decided that I wanted to finish my degree. I did, at UVM, in environmental science (concentration: ecological design), and I loved the experience. Unfortunately I graduated in 2009 and my career has been permanently affected by the great recession even tho I'm Gen X on paper my bank account says millennial lol

as it says in my bio I am queer, specifically bi/pansexual (I don't care which but pan wasn't something I knew about when I was younger so I identify more with the bi label), and I lived mostly in the closet, and even in denial for some years, before finally coming out to family and friends in my mid-30s. Spouse snapped me off the dating market right quick. I love supporting & nurturing young queers bc I didn't get much of that myself, being closeted for so long. 💜💙💚💛❤️💟

Anyway that's the broad outline. Since graduation this job I'm on leave from has been the best paying job I've had which is so discouraging. It's partially my fault too since I won't take jobs helping natural gas pipeline companies install pipelines in accordance with regulations.
