Today released v0.0.8 focusing on chat. It lays ground work to allow us, and 3rd parties (including you!), to add more features going forward. Now users have persistent identity, allowing you to build much cooler things. It also means you can ban people.

Take a look at our release notes at owncast.online/releases/owncas to learn more.

Also, our next Owncast call is Thursday, the 19th, 1PM Pacific, so mark your calendar, and I'll send more details later.

Going to play around some more with ggez.rs over at cast.samsai.eu/ and maybe get some game entities moving around and maybe even shooting. We'll see, I am working off of zero plans. Anyway, see you in the chat!

Not sure if the issue is properly resolved but the stream is now live!

Hetzner is having issues so the stream may be delayed as the VPS I am hosting my Owncast instance on is responding very slowly. It is a proper outage and is being worked on: status.hetzner.com/incident/0b

I'm going to play some Jupiter Hell over at cast.samsai.eu/ in about 15 minutes. We'll be giving the demons an express delivery of hot lead for their troubles. See you in the chat!

Hello! I'm going to play some Linux games over at cast.samsai.eu/ in about 15 minutes. Tonight's menu: "Death Trash" and "Moonshot - The Great Espionage". Then we'll go back to Wolfenstein: Blade of Agony for some more quick shooty stuff. See you in the chat!

I'm starting to think that my Twitch channel is getting more followers when I don't stream there. Or maybe Twitch is sending me follower notifications more aggressively to try to get me back.

It's always funny when we take moderation action on GOL against someone, who then complains how they were wronged and then proceeds to act in a way that totally validates the original moderation decision.

Yesterday I managed to mostly wrap up work on this: vods.samsai.eu/. Now I don't need to manage the livestream VOD archive as a part of the static site generation, which speeds up site builds a fair bit.

I'm going to spend a bit of time working on a little web app to replace my current static VOD library. So, I'll play with some Rust web libraries and see if I can get something built. cast.samsai.eu/

Decided to fix up the RSS feed and redo the theme on my blog: samsai.eu/
It took a bit of effort to convert some Tailwind stuff from the pre-made "photophobia" theme to regular CSS and then fix that up so even browsers like NetSurf will be able to show the page mostly correctly, but it's done now. Every time I have to mess with CSS makes me wish Gemini was more popular.

I'm live know over at cast.samsai.eu. Going to play some Kerbal Space Program and see if we can properly get to space.

My stream will start a bit late today, but will still happen. Running a bit late due to social obligations.

This is pretty cool. The game I wrote some time ago got packaged on AUR: aur.archlinux.org/packages/rob

I am actually somewhat surprised someone was interested enough in the game to package it AND put the effort to package it despite the game not really being designed to fit into the Unix directory structure very well.
