I think all my phones are cursed. I tried to avoid smartphones for as long as I could. Then I had one which wasn't Android, and it worked, even when it was just the community maintaining it. OpenSSL updates no longer being available made me switch (and a failing battery+plug for the charger. Either I started developing for it or buy a new one. So, new phone. Same shit even when community was involved *kind of* when they got started.
I predict in 10 years I'll maintain my own OS for a phone because everything is horrible.
@Shamar I'm already working on a alternative distribution of another system. I was being sarcastic with the mobile part. I'm half-serious about it as it would be good to get the OS running on mobile hardware, but there are issues attached I'd need to get at least past the 3.0 stage of the current system (which is developed very intransparent as I'm in testing phases).
What we need, we as #humanity, is the #humility and the #courage to try new ideas.
It doesn't matter if you fail, if I fail... if we keep trying someone will finally succeed.
And Voldermor... ehm... I mean #Javascript will be beaten! 😉
@Shamar interesting :) how does it make use of Nix when you still need to add a package manager? Or is it Nix as in *NIx for Unix?
@Shamar Oh sorry. I read about Harvey OS again. Nevermind my question.
@Shamar I'm curious, is there anything about your project I could read?
