@BryanLunduke@mastodon.rocks Phantasy star Online was released on PC moons ago... fans have been propping it up since before dinosaurs went extinct :)
Runs brilliantly in Wine... My kids and I play PSO quite often. A game that was new when I was young, thanks to fans, can be shared with my kids :)
Gaming on Linux can now be supported on Liberapay !
Liberapay is a donations platform to help you fund the creators and projects you appreciate.
In comparison to more well known Patreon, The FEES ARE LOWER, you can also put a lump sum into your "wallet" to then dish it out to anyone on the service.
Liberapay is run transparently by a non-profit organization, its source code is open, public.
Just finished watching a video by @ChrisWere sharing his final thoughts of Ubuntu and the Unity desktop running on real hardware.
Glad to see the videos move from a VM to actual hardware. The choice of hardware was pretty nice as well.
Spoiler Alert... it was a slightly upgraded version of the Triton from Entroware https://www.entroware.com/store/laptops/triton
Its an interesting read but totally over my head.
Microsoft call out the NSA and warn govs of the world...

FOR THE RECORD... I already have an amazing tinfoil top hat.
The early web had what was in retrospect an astonishing degree of transparency, it took very little effort for anybody to become a web developer -- this isn't an argument for its etymology but I wouldn't be half surprised if "web developer" came to be coined as a kind of intermediate tier between "computer user" and "programmer", what with HTML being a markup language, making room in the engineers' office for people without STEM backgrounds but stopping short of granting them peer status.
Still looking into grabbing a GnuBee. Really glad they've met their funding goals.
If you're looking into buying a NAS, GnuBee is worth considering.
If you enjoy typing and would like to try a fun typing game...
Free Software is based on the premise that some percentage of consumers can contribute back and share their changes.
Contributing requires skilled consumers.
Given a long enough time, and a trend towards increased computer literacy, I see a stronger Free Software community as an inevitability.
In the mean time, we need to focus on increasing the conversion rate.
