Hello Better, Blissfully Quieter Place! I'm Jenny and I'm a digital artist, with a love of video games and ancient art history. In between commissions, I dabble in game design, animation and currently learning Affinity Designer. My portfolio's at: if you wanna check it out!

Exploring nearby pubs today, important research to find "our" local! One's a 40min walk away but has a dinner menu for dogs and a pupper in an Xmas sweater greeted us upon entry. No competition really.

I'm the only one in this house who likes pumpkin pie so not worth making a pie just for me this fall. Instead I made some pumpkin pie cream cheese (Budget Bytes recipe!) to put on my breakfast bagels on the runup to Thanksgiving. Yum!

I am the overlord of flat pack furniture!! My kingdom of 9 freshly-assembled drawers stretch out before me!

Hey, if you're an artist and you're friendly, say hi and I'll happily follow.

No need to follow-back, I am frustratingly inane. I just want my feed to be full of nice people and beautiful things.

Yay! @rob_haines is done with work which means flat pack furniture to build after dinner! (Yes, I actually get excited to do stuff like this and I've been looking forward to it all day)

Ok, halloo! I'm Abby, I work in a UK comic shop by day and by night I work on my all-ages comic I also work as a colourist, mostly on 2000AD! has all my portfolio related doodads.

Results of today's test (working w/ only Mastodon in the background, no Twitter): in a better mood overall, with more mental energy put to both artwork and getting some bonus stuff done around the house. Interesting!

Good morning! Trying an experiment today - no birdsite at all, only gonna hang out with you guys and to see if I have another scarily productive art day like yesterday.

Anyone know if there's a Mastodon instance for drummers yet?

Please direct your friends to or another instance of your choice like, or, etc. is "default" choice for a lot of people and it's getting kinda hammered right now.

When I joined masto, I gravitated towards following creative peeps and noticed a thing that's pretty common to all of us: we feel guilty for promoting places that people can buy our work or otherwise support us financially. So I started the hashtag for that very reason. Got an Etsy page? Online store? Patreon? Selling a piece of art? Throw that tag on it. Do it with unfettered abandon. Everyone else: Look at that tag for artists to support. Buy their stuff. Help them create. <3

Anyway, back to work I go! I finished a commission recently and trying to figure out which of my personal projects I want to work on. 🎨

So I've found and they're lovely over there, but not sure I have it in me to juggle multiple instances just yet. But I wanted to recommend it in case any artists want somewhere more relevant to their interests. I can be found under the same handle there if you want a buddy ❤️

New folks might be wondering why we're all here - for a start, look below your tootin' text box: click the globe to adjust who can see your toot. Next to that is a Content Warning label - if you really need to get something serious off your chest, click that and you're being considerate to those who could become upset about the topic.

I'm Emma, I'm a writer, and since I last tooted I've got an awesome agent repping my 'twisted Twilight' sci-fi book about giant robots, Scottish mythology and monsters. I'm editing that book right now, and learning roller derby!

Made my first batch of brownies in the new house (new oven, etc) and they came out even better than in prev home! Want to experiment more (mostly for gluten free cooking/baking) but this was a start.

Oh, awesome! People I actually know on Birdsite are joining now! HI EVERYONE.
*puts the kettle on*

Watching our parking lot get tarmac'd is really satisfying. The steam's rising off it on such a chilly day.

new friends migrating over to mastodon, if you're looking for a more tweetdeck-like interface, kurotodon is a google chrome plugin that lets you have all your mastodon instances in one place. you can get it here:
