Tonight's dinner: Lo mein and vegetables; swai filets coated with bread crumbs and sauteed in garlic, butter and soy sauce; acorn squash and portabella mushrooms sliced and sauteed in the remaining bread crumbs with chili oil and soy sauce.
Believe it or not, the total cost of this was about $5 by volume of ingredients. I learned to cook for myself at a young age mostly because I LOVE tasty food, and I've been able to refine my (usually improvised) recipes to be cost-effective.
