Hi, I'm Technogen, I maybe a time traveler who forgot about it.
Going to add people to my Maly account and see if that clears up the home section being delayed by 56 minutes+
So far my only primary complaint is that my home timeline is delayed by 45 minutes, but I think that's just a server thing load thing. I should try one of the other instances I guess.
I kind of feel that the Federated Timeline shouldn't show pictures by default, its a bit slow and most pictures are cut off due to that non-scaling on the windows anyways. I also think the notifications should be a tab under home, that would be nice.
I still do not have any idea why you would need a dildo with a camera in it. I can get camming you using a dildo, but one built in?! Like you can't even use it for medical purposes. :|

The federation/migration problem in mastodon seems very important. My broader thought: SMTP/NNTP/etc. thrived because of a set of trusted entities (govt/uni) that could reliably run federated servers. My choice of server is going to be based on which one is most likely to be up and running years in the future.
Who should those entities be today?
Agreed. Now if only we had cheap/easy account migration and/or meaningful account linkage of some kind. This would be the only thing likely to motivate me to start an instance.
There would be an attraction to starting one with membership only open to people who've been around my infrastructure coding group a while as a badge of honor thing, plus local feed making it easy for alumni to connect.
Will there be a way to migrate a user to another instance once this federation node tips over?

Both the local and federated timelines are now moving too fast to be usable. That's a good sign, right?

#Mastodon update: Admins can now easily close registrations with a custom message. In other news, I have closed registrations to mastodon.social for now ensure a quality of service for all existing ones, and to promote other federated nodes.

Oh god it became worse, kept getting 500 errors every time I'd hit toot, lol yeah just deal with that! I can't even delete them right now. :rofl:
I feel bad every time I see a broken Masty because that means I helped over load the server just a little bit more.
woo! the server cleared up now my timeline is in seconds not hours.
The concept of posting to different instances for different reasons is weird and exciting. I can follow you on your home server, the server where people talk tech, the server where people talk politics, but not the ones about sports.
I'm unsure if this is really how it will shake out, it's not like there's much structure (eg, forum topics or vocal moderators) but it still is exciting. =)
