In a tropical place, with clay laden beaches that made the water seem dirty, there hid a small kingdom of aquatic fairies, each a lovely as the loveliest human imaginable.
Fickle, as any fey, they could help fill fishing nets one day but terrorize children, chasing with bright eyes and sharp tusks the next.
There is no moral here, only an observation that the fey can be lovely and dangerous or kind no matter where they are in the world.
