Google is bringing AMP to Gmail not for your convenience or to increase speed, but to change your mailbox into a platform for marketers so that the ads jump into your face. Better switch to an email service that respects your right to privacy. 😉
5 Reasons why AMP for email is bad: https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/amp-email-bad-idea/
@Tutanota I am going to continue retrieving my email over IMAP and trash any email that is not readable in plain text.
@Tutanota how would that affect my use of GMail with Thunderbird tho
@polychrome It wouldn't, except you'd still support Google and its business model.
@sgtbobbyshaftoe @Tutanota @protonmail This mail is for business, not for individuals, alas. Only Zoho allows to map one personal domain with free account, even though without IMAP. Everyone wants to eat, preferably every day, I get that. But personally, I'm now stuck with the Google Apps from those olden days when they gave free fully functional accounts for personal domains, until they start evicting its old users.
@Tutanota hey tutanota, I trust your privacy model. But how secure is your service (Java based attacks like something came up with protonmail few months ago or Man in the Middle attack).
I want privacy and security is my only concern.
