Hi everyone, we often get the question which domain provider we could recommend - also in regards to privacy. What would you recommend to fellow Tutanota users who want to get a custom domain?

@Tutanota There are so many of them. Namecheap is good, though.

@Tutanota I am no expert on all the options out there, but Namecheap openly supports the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which is super supportive of individual rights in cyberspace.

@datenschutzratgeber @Tutanota

I use Netcup. Also quite cheap and German based. I am not sure if good in terms of privacy. But I think @kuketzblog once recommended the service. But maybe I'm mistaken...

@Tutanota I would suggest to find a registrar that supports DNSSEC on the Desiree tld's

@Tutanota I find Namecheap a decent provider. Not to expensive, privacy protection for free with all the domains and a clean but usefull website/settings dashboard

Porkbun. Give'em any verifiable email address and they will leave you alone. Also they support DNSSEC.

@Tutanota I use Hover. Free privacy by default (on domains that allow it), it's Canadian-owned (Tucows) and has always acted ethically AFAIK.

@librefree @Tutanota I will switch to them for my domains. They seem to be more in favor of internet privacy. I currently have my domains at go daddy 😃
