Seriously, though, raze Silicon Valley, salt the ground, and pull every single last optical fibre out of the ground.

Let a new culture of technology take its place.

@WAHa_06x36 Silicon Valley used to have some of the most fertile farmland in the world, home to orchards making extremely lovely fruit. I would ask that the ground NOT be salted for this reason, but then I remember it's already been poisoned from the chip fabrication plants that gave it its' new name.

Almost nobody building it's businesses is from there. Most of my school mates have had to leave. The whole place is a geographic tragedy.

@WAHa_06x36 I mean, I feel your hyperbole, but I still have feels about where I grew up....

@celesteh @WAHa_06x36 Tangential: I believe salting the earth is for ritual purposes, and that the amount of salt used for this purpose is negligible from an agricultural viewpoint. (For the longest time I thought it was to render the land unusable for future farming, but it seems this is not the case.)

@varx @celesteh Could definitely use a ritual or two here.

@WAHa_06x36 @varx

Thanks for sharing this. I also thought it was to poison the ground. I'm much on board with rituals.

@WAHa_06x36 what optical fiber? There ain't any here.

(This is what happens when I read that Jack Dorsey is now pushing bitcorn.)

@WAHa_06x36 Its all about control from the governments of this world in one way or the other. The days of free internet are over since the first politician was connected.
