I think that only about one third of the mastodon community uses photos. It is of course, impossible to tell if they are actually photos of the users, but I think we can assume.

I approve of the random images. Bias and conditioning are fairly hard wired. Why supply another vector for assumptions?

Speaking of which, why do you use a photograph of yourself?
@NthTensor I think I have low barrier for showing my face to the world? I use my own photo in every social network. To each their own though.

I have always wanted to try useing a photograph of a random person stolen from online. See if my interaction changes at all.
