It seems I never did write an #introduction. How typically rude.
I'm _aD. #Poet, #geek, #ginger. Only sorry about the poet bit. I fix computers, perpetuate #cycling, enjoy #volunteering, love astronomy, play video #games and suffer an unrequited love affair with the #Moon. I'm British. Sorry about Brexit.
My writing equal-ego is @wordsmith where I keep my musings to a literary angle.
Just rescued a huge, verdant dragonfly from an impenetrable pub window. At one point it landed upside down and played dead and somehow scared the bejesus of me when it dramatically sprang back into action. Those aircraft are loud!
UK politics, climate change
I am so glad to hear that Sir David Attenborough's statement - that "No action can be too radical" to save the Earth from irreversible climate change - has been heard loud and clear by the UK's Environment Secretary.
"Michael Gove threw his weight behind a comprehensive plastic bottle recycling scheme today as he warned time is running out to repair the damage human beings have done to the planet."
UK.gov's commitment has never been clearer.
A cinnabar #moth and #caterpillar; actually seen a few days apart - the moth I saw on a pretty busy road near my home a few days ago, the caterpillar I saw today as I was walking along the Bridgewater canal towpath.
Both are incredibly vibrant colours. The moth was sporadically beating it's wings really fast.
There were loads of the caterpillars around today.
@Gargron hey Eugen. sorry, was really focused on my new job as a headline writer for Vice
With a fountain pen! We'll never forget.
"If this book mentions swans, I'm burning it"
Or how Jeremy Hunt understood his responsibilities for an NHS that haemorrhaged staff at all levels, drove down recruitment, turned away foreign applicants after paying for measures to attract foreign workers and accepting them into the programme, just after the first ever doctors' strike in the history of the NHS?
I guess their understanding of their responsibilities differs from mine.
"Mrs May would not be drawn on whether she was planning to back Mr Hunt or Mr Johnson as her replacement, saying only that "they understand the responsibility that this job brings".
Just how Johnson understood his responsibilities as foreign secretary when he insulted dignitaries and officials of other countries and actually, materially assisted the case against a British teacher that had been imprisoned abroad for alleged spying?
Poet. Geek. Ginger. Only sorry about the poet bit.
