OK, I put a lot of work into this #mefi post so please go read it https://www.metafilter.com/170294/Mapping-race-and-segregation
I was curious about my hometown of Columbus, OH (which I would guess to be somewhat segregated) and the picture there, as of 15 years ago, was somewhat different

the Cleveland area and Cinci make for interesting comparisons

I would have guessed that Cincinnati was more integrated than Columbus
NB that these maps are like super old, too-- which makes a big difference for Columbus, actually
do let me know if you have a line on better maps for Ohio (or other Midwestern) cities!
@afabulous I didn't have anything special to say in the MeFi comments, but thanks for this. Some of this may come in very useful for work next year. Much appreciated.
@gotanda awesome. I have a degree in urban planning with a concentration in GIS so itβs a keen interest of mine.
@afabulous The one dot per person map was really cool. After living in and around Boston for a while and doing some study of Asian immigrants to the area I wasn't that surprised by the stark segregation there, But, wow, Lowell, MA might surprise a few people. The Hmong resettlement there was a subject of study for one of my professors way back when. It really stands out. Cool stuff and a great post.
@afabulous Congrats! The post looks great.
