@marcoarment @caseyliss @siracusa there’s a third option besides short convenient numeric passcode and alphanumeric passcode - very long numeric passcode. This has the advantage of the easy numeric keypad but has an indeterminate number of digits. A 10 digit or 20 digit number is a good compromise for some. For older people you can tell them “use your childhood home phone number” or even two phone numbers combined.
@marcoarment @caseyliss @siracusa it is somewhat undocumented that if you choose an unlock code but set it to only numbers (more than 8 or so digits) you get this dialog
@afwaller @marcoarment @caseyliss @siracusa this is what I’ve done for years— 10 digits feels hard enough to shoulder surf, especially with a bit of caution.
