every once in a while i get annoyed at some petty little thing my dad does or did, but then when i see the absolutely atrocious things other parents do it really makes me appreciate what he did right... probably not the best way to appreciate a person but i guess it puts things in perspective

tho tbh in the larger scheme of things, it does make me think about how people in positions of privilege are often blind to those privileges. there are a lot of good things in my life where I can pinpoint the exact reasons why they came out that way, only because I can see the alternative in people less fortunate. things I would have otherwise taken for granted. it makes me wonder what goes on in the minds of people who have similar exposure yet revel in entitlement instead of becoming humbled
