this is a tremendous idea for an exhibition, I wish I could go https://hyperallergic.com/425850/the-dadaists-fevered-dreams-of-africa/ though I don't agree with the writer that the dadaists' "[drawing] on the same bilious African stereotypes as colonialists" is an "excess" that is "surely the price paid for the works’ wonders"—more I'm struck with how plainly central this kind of appropriation was to the dadaists' creativity and how weird/awful it is that students learn about dada today and might not ever hear about this connection
