The logo design challenge is still waiting for someone to collect the $1 million prize ;)

@pfefferle just pointed to a very nice old logo design.. the one of the Federated Social Web Summit:

socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/

Maybe and brightness of current can be combined with the more organic of this logo?

Fedi is grassroots and organic, after all, right? But also more vibrant and diverse, than a growing 'spore' that the matte green conveys.

@humanetech I was wondering about something like this:

• Social networks are blue now, no use fighting it, but a deep blue evokes a universe, as in the Fediverse.
• I wanted to avoid the connected-network motif, which seems a bit busy, so I've gone for an infinity-symbol instead.
• The swoosh evokes rings on a planet, again tying into the universe theme.
• The design resembles a lowercase cursive F for Fediverse.
• It scales OK and has only two colours so should adapt to a range of contexts.

@andrewt I like the design. It also looks like a spinning toll. You might add it to the topic.

Note there is a poll going on sticking with the original icon (though anyone is free to use what they want, of course).

The thread below my toot is incredibly long and forked, ha ha.

@andrewt @humanetech it's nice but it's going to feel weird for many chemists: I see a p or d orbital ^^

@silmathoron @humanetech haha, oh it does kinda look like that, at least it's not something rude
