@livestradamus @christinelove Filing this as a test case for when I finally get around to building a sarcasm detector. 🤦‍♂️

@livestradamus @christinelove Right? She had all the privilege in the world. Of course we’re jealous.

Remember, there is a generation that don't see nothing wrong here.

Boost if you get it ;)

Let this serve as a warning, to any C coder who dares look at C++ with desire.

Me? I’m already guilty of having created my own string class¹ in C++. But don’t we all have some regrets from our teenage years?

Ethical, easy-to-use and privacy-conscious alternatives to well-known software: Get off fb, goog, amazon, apple and msw!

I don't normally beg for boosts, but this is worth sharing with your IRL friends via email and w/e else. Older Mastodonians pretty much know most of these. I hope?

@aeveltstra The web client lets you do that. It just doesn’t prompt if you forget. I just verified this behaviour in the browser.

ChromeOS was such a ginormous brain play. It never took off in the mainstream, but now every kid in America uses one. I'm meeting people who have never used Windows. 🤯🤯🤯

@njha @mike Planets are hard. It’s a hardware problem.

I love Mastodon’s “Describe for the visually impaired” feature for images.

I don’t know if the web client does this, but Tusky prompts you if you forget a description. The result is that all pictures I’ve seen here, bar just three in the one day I’ve been here after my Mastodon hiatus, have a neat description of their contents.

I’m not even visually impaired. Yet. It just feels good to know that this content will be accessible to me if I live long enough for my eyesight to become a problem.

@mike Of the OSes currently available, including the BSDs, the only one that has even a remote chance of being around for 29 billion years is Linux, so it makes complete sense to get it ready to survive that long.

To anyone out there who is reading this: I am @ankitpati now.

Previously, I held Mastodon identities under the same username at mastodon.cloud, and mstdn.io, and both of those identities are no longer functional.

I switched to this instance after a long hiatus from Mastodon as this seems to be the most popular, and well-maintained one, in no small part due to the tireless efforts of @Gargron.
