Allison Parrish @aparrish

I have now exhausted three different librarians with my research question, leading me to believe that either (a) I'm onto something really interesting and unique or (b) I am completely unable to coherently formulate what I'm looking for

I suspect it's some combination of both. not knowing enough to know whether or not you know enough to even formulate a question is very frustrating

although having license to blithely power ahead without being secure in this knowledge is one of the benefits of being an artist

@aparrish OK, now I'm curio. Please tell me what this is about.

@aparrish Maybe you'll have the joy of publishing your thing and becoming a domain expert. Then when you ask librarians to help research, they'll send you to your own work!

@aparrish are you at NYU? I'm a librarian at NYU. Who did you reach out to? If it's data related, Data Services is the department in the library that could probably help the most

@aparrish (I saw data related based on the toots I've seen from you).

I also have a dual appointment with NYU's center for data science, so if you need some ML help I could ask a few research fellows or research engineers that'd be glad to help!

@vickysteeves I am at NYU and I did already talk to data services! scott collard got back to me had helpful directions for me to explore. the question is sort of...halfway data-related, which is why I think they referred me to art history
