@knippy I've been using this on my iphone during my subway commute http://www.hellochinese.cc/ I've liked it a lot so far? (also started out as a total beginner) there's for-pay content but also plenty included for free. the only thing I wish it had was flashcards. duolingo also just added mandarin, but I didn't like it as much as hellochinese
