So now that Twitter's definitely not an option anymore, I am happy to delete my account to join the more respectful Mastodon. In this thread, I'll just repost the majority of the (few) things I posted in the last year regarding my programming. In the future I'll mostly post and boost about computer science and programming (hopefully regularly). You can see this as an

Playing with Jonas' latest WIP mobile shell branch. It's honestly more fluid than my Android phone with Lineage, super impressive given the much weaker hardware ✨️

I know I've teased this thing a million times by now, but I have a bit more progress on it. :) As well as a WIP MR (for libadwaita, not epiphany, though ephy changes are pretty small)

With the digital markets act, the EU is cracking down on big tech's gatekeeping, and this will have major impacts on app stores, messaging, developers and in app payments, as well as pre-installed apps and out of the box experiences. It's a big win!

I am pleased to announce that is having its first anniversary! There has never been that many news as this week in the whole year!

#52 Happy Birthday!

We came a long way as far as user friendliness goes. There is a whole chapter on how to connect to the internet, with several config files and commands to tinker with. And don't get me started on the install process it's like 15 pages long (I can say for sure it is harder than arch lol)

Sometimes you can find some treasures in the attic. This thing is older than me btw

This is the flashcard (aka spaced repetition) app for that I've been working on recently. Still a work in progress but I spent my whole day on it so I'm sharing.

If anyone has an idea on how to use latex formulas in a GtkLabel I'm all ears 👀.

Ok this thread was longer than expected, thank you for your attention !

I also participated to a game jam and made a small game in about 3 hours. Was not great but good enough for a first time and only between three and four hours to make everything (epilepsy warning, tuned the flashes very badly 😅 ) : twistydev.itch.io/free-electro

Lastly I also really like the (of course free and open source) Godot game engine, so here are the few projects/prototypes I made with it. The biggest is an adaptation of a French youtuber trading card game (see in the video below). I got online working with anticheat detection server side. I think I surprisingly got right the organisation in the program even though it was a learning project. It was almost playable, but of course far from finished and only made to have fun building it.

By the way this blog post was on my personal website. I unfortunately don't have much published here, apart from the about page (twistydev.gitlab.io/about/) that I really need to update. But it is waiting for me to get back to it.

Ok this one is for French speaking people, it is an introduction to steganography I wrote in the context of an event similar to the r/place of reddit. twistydev.gitlab.io/fr/dirtybi
It took me quite some time but I think I explained the subject well so anyone can follow it. It is not what I usually do, and seeing positive feedback about it makes me want to write other blog posts. Whenever I have a good idea I guess.

One thing I was very proud of achieving is this programm allowing me to create a transcript of any french parliament meeting, to help someone in their work. I was amazed to see it was possible to achieve speech recognition accurately in a entirely offline dataset, I remember trying around 2018 and it was impossible back then. I need to make a 2.0 version when I can, I will release the source code on gitlab when it's done.

The next two are not the most impressive, but this is what I am working on right now. These are my learning projects to make Gnome apps using Gtk4 and Libadwaita. The first one is a small recap of my music comsuption, and the other is an app to see backups of my messages. I really like those libraries and the gnome ecosystem that is being created, so I hope to gain enough experience to contribute.

First thing that got a bit of attention is this Flutter app I made to revise the japanese vocabulary in the lessons of a french youtuber. I obviously can't release it because of the branding, but it was quite fun to spend one night building it. Everything works offline, and it features a small download manager.
