If I could leave the country for my birthday, I would. If I have to be alone for it yet again, I'd rather be far from here and away from the country-wide chaos, crowds, barbeques, fireworks, and my own feelings of soul-crushing loneliness. But I can't leave, and so... I'm trying not to dread the day as it draws so damn close, but I'm currently wishing I could just sleep through the whole week and wake up when it's all over.

At the moment, it would be really great if I could feel something other than deep emotional anguish. Given how far it penetrates, I'm thinking it's not possible for me to feel much of anything else. Yay? :-/
The terms of Unconditional Love and Acceptance keep getting bastardized. Neither of them imply you become a doormat or put up w/ someone's horrendous behavior towards you or others, it means that you remember they are human just like you are. You can still care about & love someone & still not let them into your life (self-love is important, too). Everyone is capable of positive change, & employing that love & acceptance towards others helps to make this possible for all, incl. ourselves. 2/2

Was curious about the origins of the story in the #StudioGhibli film, #TalesFromEarthsea after seeing a book title of the same name by the late #UrsulaKLeGuin at my local library, so I looked it up on #Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_from_Earthsea_(film) I'm now curious as to what the books actually were and how they differ from the film. (I have never read her books before.) #Hmmm...
