How would a non native speaker/student understand the exceptions in French? I have been just learning them as it is on the fly, but is there a way to know the logic behind it? The same is the case with gender specs. Like why is Cafe masculine whereas Beire is not? And table is feminine while book (livre) is not?
(Even though all the above ends in vowels, they have different rules).
