I've been a part of many social media efforts. For example, I helped build and grow Hootsuite.

But nothing compares to what's happening with calckey.social (and ) right now.

Right now, the growth is entirely word of mouth.

No advertising, press releases, Silicon Valley-style hype.

But last November, I told @kainoa that this could be a project that changes their life.

I'm honoured to help in whatever way that I can!

@fediversenews

@atomicpoet@mastodon.social @kainoa@calckey.social @fediversenews@venera.social It's good to see, but I'm wondering if you can explain why typing on #calckey seems slower than in #mastodon. There's just a little bit of latency with each keystroke in my experience. I don't have it anywhere else.

I'm not personally experiencing that right now. However, if you're experiencing a bug, I recommend filing it here:

@atomicpoet@mastodon.social OK. I have an account at Easy Mode and also on Calckey Social and they both have the slow typing in my Chromium-based browser. What browser do you use? I can try Firefox.

@atomicpoet @kainoa @here I think that it has to do with the recent wave... servers maybe overload or may intentionally freeze to control the traffic (that's a guess, in no way I consider myself an expert on this topic)

@gdiak @fediversenews @here There is lots of slowness due to a big wave of registrations and site visits. I know that @kainoa is working hard, but this is a lot of traffic! Would be hard for anyone to keep up.

@atomicpoet@mastodon.social @gdiak@venera.social @fediversenews@venera.social @kainoa@calckey.social I think that's a separate issue for just Calckey Social. I have the same typing latency at Easy Mode and there is no latency with any other operation.

@atomicpoet @kainoa @here I understand that! I guess that for them (mods) was a kind of surprise to see that traffic
@atomicpoet @kainoa Thanks @atomicpoet ; we are considering to use calckey for a group of Bengali language instance; I do not know how many signups we may end up with but upwards of 1000; can we use #Calckey?

@arinbasu @atomicpoet@venera.social @fediversenews @kainoa We'd be thrilled if you used Calckey. Keep in mind that we are in *active* development 🙂
