Dear bands,

I love buying your music but why would you release a 5 song EP at $12? That just seems a little counter productive to me.

I'm supposed to be taking part in NaNoWriMo this year, would have been my 4th in a row.

But I'm still in the process of finishing my novel from last year. So I guess I'll spend my evening proof reading t his month.

Took my phone out of my pocket last night and it was totally dead. Plugged it in overnight and it is still dead.

Guess I'm going to have to start looking for a new one.

Suggestions?

Ok safari, using a font that display I and l exactly the same is a terrible idea.

Also things that aren't safari.

Going to spend the better part of my day just listening to 'Dopesmoker' by Sleep on repeat.

Damn this is a sultry and smooth album.

John Legend sings some of Gordon Ramsey's insults.

I'd actually pay money for that album.

MacLeans is on the ball with this article.

They're right, "Thoughts and Prayers Strategy (TAPS)" doesn't help.

The subheadline says everything:

"Surprisingly, the strategy of praying to God is not stopping the mass shootings in the U.S."

My office just switched to an agile development lifecycle. What the hell is a deadline and how do I avoid them now?

We've been spoiled the last 5 years with a "fix it, and release it" schedule.

I had some 'work' to do this weekend which involved colouring a few of my previously uncoloured images for a client that wants to license coloured versions. Here's one of 'em, before and after. :) Hand-drawn image, coloured in Krita.

Dear every UI designer: You know those new, super-cool disappearing scroll bars that only magically appear when you hover the mouse over JUST THE RIGHT INVISIBLE SPOT? And vanish again if you're one pixel out? So you can never tell where you are in the scroll and, in fact, they completely don't fulfil their purpose for existence as a scroll indicator?

I know you love them but they're trash, sorry.

My wife told me a story about one of her bus driver colleagues who was waiting for one her tours to return. It was a two-hour wait so he hunkered down and watched a "writin'" spider the whole time. My wife speaks rural Kentucky patois so she figured out he meant a golden orb spider. He said, "Yeah, like Charlotte's web." There was a time not so distant where we all had ways to pass the time. Observing was one of those pastimes. It's not passive. You take time to pass time.

One of my favourite bands Cults is dropping a new album in October and I'm super excited about it.

It also happens to be my daughters favourite band when she was a baby, if she was crying in the car, I'd turn on their first album and she would be the happiest kid in the world.

Here's the new song from the album for you to list to as well.

Built the kids a giant fucking fort to keep them from fighting.

Turns out I've restricted their movements too much and they're fighting more because they're touching each other.

Oops.

I don't regret much in my life, but right now I'm really regretting the day that I ordered the OnePlus 2 phone.

The support from OnePlus has been terrible and it's not a very well developed phone so the support from other OS builders hasn't been the greatest.

Paranoid Android hasn't released their new OS for it yet. But they have the OnePlus1 and OnePlus3/3t done already.

I love it when QA tests things and tries to tell me that my stuff is broken. They go out of their way to bring over a senior developer to talk to me about it only to discover that QA fucked up the test to begin with.

Why does Google Play Music have to be an asshole when I want to delete an album from my collection.

I just want it gone, I haven't listened to it in 3 years.

I should be a little more active on this again.

I do only seem to use it when I'm at work.
