Love to see Microsoft apologists telling me MS has changed and I should embrace them for that change. You stuck with MS through their most despicable behavior; don't lecture me about principles now. MS achieved their dominance through behavior that I despise (in my opinion setting back computing development significantly), but now that they are using their treasure hoard for better things I'm supposed to just accept that and move on? Nah. I believe in forgiving people, not giant corporations.

been thinking a lot about Charlie Stross's talk on corporations as slow AI

"And looking in particular at the history of the past 200-400 years—the age of increasingly rapid change—one glaringly obvious deviation from the norm of the preceding three thousand centuries—is the development of Artificial Intelligence, which happened no earlier than 1553 and no later than 1844."

🤔 The circuitry inside a Casio watch isn't too complex, maybe I could measure it and manufacture a replacement with more features.

Oops somebody already did it! Way better than I would have!

The "Pluto" watch, which re-purposes the case and LCD from a Casio F91-W, includes a compass, infrared programming, RTTTL ringtone (musical) alarms, generates RFC 6238 one-time passwords, open source, and runs for a year on a standard watch battery! Wow!! 😮

more cybrepnuk than Pebble imho

I will say #Firefox has come a long way in recent times! It's memory footprint is a drastic improvement. So much so that I've switched back to it from Chrome. Good bye #EvilGoogle.

I really envy whoever it is who works at Mozilla and came up with the name "ESR" for their extended support release, because it means they must have never heard of Eric Raymond.

We're going to be so embarrassed when we finally meet an extraterrestrial civilization and have to tell them we don't have room for all their runes in our "universal" encoding system because we used them up for poop and various fruits.
