@benjancewicz Forgive me for not remembering the specific case law, but there are a couple of wrinkles to this, where remaining silent may end up making *more* trouble for you:
- You *are* required to identify yourself if a cop asks you to. Past that, however, you can remain silent.
- You *must* give a cop your license/registration/insurance if you're the subject of a traffic stop, and exit the car if they tell you to. Past that, however, you can remain silent.
