urgh. apparently people in this country are so ignorant of basic medical shit that even CHILDREN know, that the government has had to issue a PSA advert to get people to stop hassling their doctors for antibiotics for shit like colds and other things which are completely nonsense!
@bentosmile if people could afford to take 1-3 days off, they wouldn't be hassling their doctors.
Not that that excuses hassling one's doctor but people are under A LOT of pressure to simply pay rent etc.
Farming (esp. USA), antibiotics needlessly used.
Thing is, it's not just GP-related things it affects. No viable antibiotics, surgery survivability will plummet. This has a huge downsides.
Oh, on the same subject, anti-bacterial surface cleaners are part of the problem too.
@jason yeah, that's basically what the ad says - taking antibiotics frivolously makes them non-effective, then you die. XD tbh there's plenty of other stuff ppl can take for a cold, but there's a bunch of stubborns who won't believe that antibiotics aren't the way. (just paracetamol is enough for a cold!)
haha there's an antibacterial spray ad which annoys me too. XD where ppl spray a cushion. I'm like, just wash the cushion cover ffs!
