The caveat of making free and open source software on Android is that if your application is good, there is someone who's going to take the code, change the branding, add advertisements to it and profit off of it. It happens literally everytime and Google is barely doing anything about this.
So yeah I understand why most Android devs are reluctant to release their code
@Siphonay I wonder if the way to go is to use a non-commercial license, even though that doesn't meet FOSS requirements?
Alternately, use GPL, and then DMCA the crap out of anyone that doesn't comply.
