@freakazoid @jalcine Yeah, it’s happening, but the thing is they are still trying to pass the cost to the consumer, while everyone else is putting state funds behind it. That’s a big bottle neck here.
Putting the responsibility for clean energy developement on private companies will always result in being inaccessible to most, which I would imagine is kind of the point.
Lobbyists know this as well, which is why I would disagree they have been reduced. They’ve just shifted.

@cwebber this is totally unrealistic, though. Better to just teach kids to wrap computers in plastic bags and never touch them directly.
This is the worst so far...
Fake X button that does the same with I Accept, dark patterns from hell, and you have to scroll down more than 4 screens to find a camouglaged Opt Out button.
This one truly belongs to the #GDPRHallOfShame
CO2 emissions fuckery, the world's tiniest violin
IHS Markit projects automakers could be fined more than €14B for European CO2 excess emissions in 2021: http://www.greencarcongress.com/2018/08/20180806-ihs-1.html
"Once in 2021 and subject to full WLTP regulatory monitoring, only a seismic shift (over the baseline) in consumer demand for BEV and PHEV will result in the full mitigation of EU28 fleet level excess emissions premiums."
Well, maybe make BEVs and PHEVs that people want to buy, and you won't have that problem.
Please boost this toot.
Fair warning everyone.
hackers.town will be prepping for a major move tomorrow. There will be extended downtime.
The costs of operating this instance on Azure have gotten too consistently high for me to be cool with, I will be moving to a self-hosted environment.
I know of one particular issue that I may face by doing so. If it gets to be too much of an issue, I'll look into fixing it.
A small price to pay for security.
