So someone on Mozilla's dev-security-policy mailing list said "I doubt Let's Encrypt would issue for paypal.any_valid_tld".

I saw that the paypal.cologne domain was available for 13€, purchased it, instantly got a #letsencrypt certificate and now paypal.cologne is a thing.

I should clarify a couple of things though:

1. I do sleep sometimes, so it may take a little while for me to respond! Please don't take lack of immediate response as lack of interest in the problem. Odds are, I am probably just either busy or asleep.

2. If you are not nice to me, I am probably not going to get involved. After all, like you, I have feelings and if you hurt them, I am not likely to be motivated to help.

3. Just because I involve myself does not mean I will just demand the Pleroma admin do whatever you want. This process will be a mutual exploration of the problem and hopefully everyone agrees at the end of the process on what should be done.

4. If one of the parties doesn't act in good faith, I am not going to pursue mediation any further. If that party is the Pleroma admin, I am likely to be irritated with them.

5. There are certain admins I am not going to bother with, because I know they will not listen. In those cases, I will probably advise you to just block their instance.

Mastodon admins: if you have trouble with a Pleroma instance and you wish for somebody to help mediate the dispute, I am open to helping with that as well. I understand both "sides" of many disputes and will try to assist with reaching a mutually beneficial outcome.

Open dialogue is the best way to solve problems before they become serious.

We really want to work together to make the fediverse a good space for everyone.

Hey mastodon crowd!

If you have problems with Pleroma users bothering you with threats, or similar, please let me know. I will ask them to stop.

I can't promise success, but I can promise that we will ask them to stop. I will, however, escalate to their admin if they refuse to listen.

In Deus Ex (1), I've found that the UNATCOTroop actor will engage any other actor that fires a sufficiently loud projectile weapon at least twice. The MJ12Troop and MJ12Commando actors seem to behave similarly.

This means you can set up amusing situations where dozens of UNATCO troops fire on dozens of other UNATCO troops. Other actors in the scene may be drawn in and you get hilarious things like "oh, turns out Morgan Everett has the friggin Dragon's Tooth Sword"

In related news, the Steam news section for Deus Ex has an article on emergent behavior

I have a suspicion that a lot of cishet men are shy and reticent about challenging gender norms because they have this internalized idea that it isn't their lane. Go for it, yo. You have the best armor rating. Tank.

It is interesting to me.

#hackerhistory

It is illuminating that nearly every female hacker I have looked up data on is generally disparaged for their work.

Every tiny mistake pointed out, in excruciating detail.

The next few entries in hackerhistory will showcase some of these women... without judgement.

And god forbid they be blessed with looks good or bad... then the discussion turns only to that.

This is a terrible thing.

@guizzy @lain I'm really pretty tired of this "Pleroma/GNU Social/SomethingElse is Nazi software/space" bullshit.

I had a StatusNet account until Evan killed identi.ca years ago; a shit-ton of great people I talk with here every day have accounts on Pleroma or GNU Social. Some are their developers.

benefited handsomely from there being a large community of dedicated people in Fediverse before Mastodon was a thing. Let's acknowledge that and stop being so condescending.
