This made me think. A great app would be one that took a well known writing interface like Scrivener or yWriter, and use Git as a repository for branching and versions, then leveraged GitHub or BitBucket to save and provide Wiki functionality.

I know yWriter has snapshot saves, but they are in no way as robust as Git. And you can't do line by line diff comparisons.
No I am stuck with what feels like a great dev idea, when I need to concentrate on a writing challenge. <sigh>

I thought this was a great idea! I have also wondered why writing application haven't started leveraging the power and features of source control tools like Git. And the knowledge base tools like Wikis (which are embedded inside of sites like GitHub and BitBucket).

I have seen some articles that describe using GitHub for writers, and there are examples of very successful collaborative writing projects using GitHub. But, the authors needed to know how to use GitHub to do it.

Well, Camp NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow. I have already said "Hello" to my cabin mates, and have a suitable subject and outline prepped. I'm getting pumped for the challenge and it should be fun.

But, my inner developer came out reading another author's blog post. She mentioned that, when writing a series, the number of facts and things to remember can get unwieldy rather quickly. She said that she had to resort to making a wiki.

New Molecule Kills Five Deadly Drug-Resistant Superbugs | IFLScience

Hmm. Synthetic biodegradable non-toxic molecule capable of killing multiple-drug resistant bacterial infections? Sounds wonderful, but I'll wait for the peer reviews.

I was looking for a browser extension that would let me share to Mastodon. This one works! I wish I could flip the button language to English. But, not sweating the small stuff.
