Ugh. I can't even read this article. Everything about it pisses me off: nytimes.com/2018/10/25/technol

I'm sitting here feeling sad that I don't have a million dollars and probably never will and those assholes are over there paying people multiple million dollar rewards for being utter shit.

@bigzaphod I've tried to read that article several times but my mind keeps shutting down part way through to protect me. The length and breadth of it is impossible for me to hold on to.

google

@bigzaphod I have to consciously prevent myself from going "Oh, well, the small amount I can hold in my head isn't _that_ bad."

It's the bit I can hold on to times 50 or more.

google

@bigzaphod I can relate. The utter unfairness of so many things really gets me down lately.

@bigzaphod This is sickening to hear. His career and Essential are done.

@bigzaphod my feeling is that if I ever have a million dollars (or equivalent in UK pounds) then I’ve done something wrong. If i manage to accumulate that much then I’m not spending enough on looking after the people i care about, or I’m being paid too much. Either way, that wealth deserves to be with people who really need it.

And those sorts of exit packages? They should be taxed in the very high double digits.

google

@mkelly it very much feels like there should be some kind of global maximum wealth that any one person is allowed to amass - but I'm sure there'd be endless ways around such limitations.

google

@bigzaphod it sure feels like there’s enough wealth and “stuff” for everyone to be content with a reasonable share of it. Too much greed in this world.
