i feel this unfortunate dichotomy between accounts like sehurlburt and moshboy on birdsite. wrt the former, it’s great to promote bootstrapping and encourage gamedevs who are really trying to make it. but the market is so over saturated that the latter’s take seems healthy or even mandatory. more people will be gamedevs over time regardless, and it feels more important to the human experience to encourage self-expression, without the anxiety of having to combine that with running in the rat race
I think I’ll stop searching for the One True Way To Build Anything and just go for A Way That Works For This Specific Target. Having spent much of this break trying to do the former, I guess I’m glad to have touched some new technologies, but for some reason I can’t seem to learn that nobody actually cares about how the pizza is made, just that the pizza is made well enough that it’s at least good. People don’t talk about edible pizzas; they talk about delicious pizzas.
