@Divan Ten flags and you get disemvoweled for 24 hours. Twenty and you're a dolphin.

Anyone can flag you... but at a cost. Flagging someone is like being flagged twice yourself and you then can't post anything yourself for 15 minutes.

Then we just keep adding rules until the system is complicated enough to make EVERYONE happy. ๐Ÿ˜†

@enkiv2 in the same vein, I am so full of loathing for everyone who puts their APIs over HTTP

that is not what it is designed for and it is SO BLOATED for most API things!

we have msgpack and protobuf, WHY would you EVER use HTTP

New release of mastodon.el (v0.6.1) has been merged to master and should be on MELPA in ~3 hours.

* Unfavourite/unboost toots
* Documentation in the toot bufffer
* Display toot timestamps
* A few minor fixes

Big thanks to @clarkenciel, @h_d, and @alexjgriffith

Also, there's a matrix channel now: riot.im/app/#/room/%23mastodon

I just released v0.4.1 of mastodon.el.

New HTML rendering should fix new line issues, tag references (full URL vs ), and handle references (full URL vs @johnson).

All URLs can be visited ENTER, including tags and handles, assuming you can access some kind of browser from your Emacs.

The mastodon-version function is fixed and actually works now.

When you boost/favourite a toot, a message lets you know it was successful.

An implant on your eyelids that plays ads while you dream could be the next episode of Black Mirror season 4, or it could just be Facebook's new product announcement. It's becoming almost impossible to tell the difference

@ellotheth @neekz0r also, even though this would be outrageous for any other language, Go is simple enough that just reading the spec is a reasonable way to learn how it works!

The W3C EME github issues tracker sure has a lot of formal objections. github.com/w3c/encrypted-media

@indecisivetwat @b_cavello This doesn't _really_ make sense on a code level, but in GNU Social and the rest of the Fediverse there's these things called Groups which is similar, in some sense.

You join a group like !tzag, or !makitaย , and then when you tag in the group (with the bang) the post goes to any and all members of the group, no matter if they follow you or not.

I made a post about them sometimes early in the latest migration, I'll see if I can dig it out.ย
